Quality Construction. Clear Communication.

Our Process

We know you’re busy, so we keep our build process as simple as possible. Here’s what to expect when you work with us:

Step 1: Consultation

When you get in touch with us, we’ll ask you for some brief information about the kind of structure you’re looking for and how you’ll plan to use it. From there, we’ll find out more about the space you’re planning to build on. We’ll modify the plans to one of our pre-designed models to fit your space, and we’ll work in any customizations or upgrades you’d like. You might want to include an outdoor kitchen, custom wood finishing or trim work, your choice of roofing materials, stonework, or a built-in fireplace. We’ll make it happen!

Sheltered structures such as pavilions, pergolas, or carports will need to be installed on a concrete or gravel pad. It can be pre existing or one that you build to accommodate the structure. If you’re not sure whether your existing surface will work, we’d be happy to come out to your property and take a look.

Step 2: Build

We do all of the pre work and joinery for your structure in our shop. This minimizes time on your property and allows us to focus on giving you the highest level of quality and craftsmanship. We build all of our structures using mortise and tenon joinery, which means that the pieces of your structure are hand cut to fit perfectly together, using wooden pegs to lock the pieces into place. The combination of modern precision cutting tools and old-world craftsmanship results in a highly durable structure.

Due to the custom and handcrafted nature of our structures, our build process takes 6–7 weeks on average.

Step 3: Install

Because most of the framing and construction process takes place in our shop, we can finish the build on your site in just 2–3 days. We’ll work with you to pick a convenient installation date. If a building permit is needed, you’ll need to arrange it with your municipality by this date.
